VIN Decoding

 

 

VIN Decoding can be found on the following ComSoft DMS screens. There are several locations due to what access/package your dealership may have.

 

Inventory Inception Entries Screen

Accounting - Vehicle Information Screen

Inventory Management - Inventory Manager

Finance - Finance Deal Trade Screen

 

 

 

 

1.   Type in VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), click on

 

 

    

 

 

2.   The VIN will be decoded through CHROME (you must be connected to the internet to decode), the highlighted fields below will populate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

3.   Errors you may receive.

 

 

   Entered greater or less than 17 characters.

 

  

 

 

   VIN was not entered correctly or computer is not connected to the internet.
